We believe a supplier should finish its homework first. We are assessing blending under the Energy Regulation Board framework, and we won’t commit to commercial supply until that assessment closes.
The attraction of a blend is that it reaches your existing plant through the existing supply chain. The constraint is that plant tolerance and storage behaviour both have to be established first.
Plant tolerance first
We establish what your plant will take before we discuss a blend at all.
A blend your plant cannot tolerate will damage it, and the carbon certificate attached to that fuel will not repair the engine afterwards.
We establish tolerance and storage behaviour before a trial starts, so the assessment tells you something useful about your own fleet.
Plant compatibility and storage
These two questions decide whether a blend is usable on your site, so we settle them first.
But engine and fuel-system tolerance varies by manufacturer, by the age of the plant. A blend acceptable to one fleet may sit well outside the warranty position of another.
Where a manufacturer states a limit that limit governs what we supply you. The tolerances that apply are [TBC: specification].
In fact, blended product behaves differently in storage, because dwell time, water pickup and cold behaviour all shift the way your tanks must be managed.
